Back from CHA

It feels so good to be home and back in my own bed!!!

What a fun show.

I got to meet tons of new people and see lots of friends I only seen a few times a year, plus hang out with friends from Utah that I dearly LOVE!

Over the next week or so, I'm going to try and post some of my pictures (I just took a point and shoot camera, so be kind when you see the photos...they aren't that great) and tell you what I saw that rocked my boat.

Elsie's new line did NOT disappoint!

I cannot wait to play with all her goodies. They are scrumptious!!!

You can see pictures on her blog (link above on her name) of her products and the way her booth was set up.

I roomed with ultra talented and ultra persuasive (if you know her, you'll know what I mean) Lori Bergmann.

That girl could talk her way into the white house! LOL!

I got to walk the show and hang with my new best friend Shannon Montez!

I've got to go unpack and get some work done but I'll post more photos tomorrow!

More stamp layouts

Here are a couple of layouts with the girl and boys stamps.

These were done digitally because we needed layouts for the packaging before the stamps were done being made.

 

Spring Romance

This set of stamps will also be available at CHA this weekend.

It's called Spring Romance.

They are kind of an elegant altered stamp.

There are 7 different stamps in this set.

I have some layouts with the Boy and Girl seals that I'll post tomorrow.

New Autumn Leaves Stamps

I'm excited about some new clear stamps that I designed that Autumn Leaves is releasing at CHA this weekend.

There is a Boy Set, A Girl Set and a Mom Set.

I Love the MOM set:

Proud Mom Moment; I LOVE U; INVENT YOURSELF; You are my Sunshine; Way 2 Go & U R Funny! I love how easy clear stamps are to use.

This layout is in the brand new issue of PaperCrafts Stamp It Magazine.

I also have another set, Spring Romance. I'll post a layout from that set tomorrow.

A couple more layouts

This is my very favorite layout that I've done in the past few months.

It is in the newest 2 Peas Newsletter.

I used a hand drawn border from my new Borderlines 2 - Funky Town kit which I printed out on a piece of 8.5 x 11 white cardstock.

I love the design but that's not what makes this my favorite layout.

It's this photo of Spencer that I took this past Fall.

He has grown up so much. He has always been a fun kid to be around but he just keeps getting funnier and funnier.

I know that we're entering or are on the border of the whole "girl" scene and I'm going to try really hard not to embarrass him (that's what this layout is about).

The "Miss U" layout was also in the Newsletter. Even though I talk to Ski via e-mail almost every day, it's not the same as having him here.

I miss him.

Well, back to work...

New layout

I did a couple of layouts recently for Two Peas, that are my new favorites.

This one is of our neighbor Kate.

She is a little spitfire of a girl...almost 12 and VERY spunky.

The journaling reads: ""it's not easy being short - but I think it's helped turn you into the spunky little person you are...ready to take on any Goliath."

Monograms & New Digi Kits

Anyone who has been to my house knows I have a thing for monograms.

I have S's (Sande, Spencer, Ski), M's (Mike & McKean) and K's all over my house.

So when I saw Layle's k on her wall, I knew I had to have one.

The ultra talented Janna makes them.

They are perfectly smooth too. I haven't decided what color i'm going to paint mine yet or if I'm going to cover it in part of an antique French Newspaper I picked up at a flea market in Paris.

You can get them different sizes...but I wanted mine BIG. I got these two big frames and star for my mantle over the holidays. I'm going to paint the star red so that it stands out against the frames...which makes me think that the K would look awesome in some old newsscript.

Here is another "k" that I picked up at Anthropologie. I could truly spend a fortune in that store.

This is one that I embossed with the tools from Ten Seconds Studio. If you're going to CHA, definately check out their booth. They have the coolest tools!

At midnight tonight, I have two more digi kits coming out at Two Peas.

They are: Borderlines 2 - Funky Town and Old News Frames. I've used a few of them on my blog entries lately.

Lap dog

  Our two dogs, Ella and Portia couldn't be more different.

Ella is a total lap dog.

She is happiest when she is sitting or laying on someone.

Portia doesn't even like to be picked up. She'll curl up next to you but not on you.

The adore McKean and I can often find the three of them napping somewhere in the house.

New Year's organization...

You know it's January when you go to the store and the merchandise put by the window is either organizational supplies & boxes or treadmills and fitness equipment.

There is something about this time of year that makes us want to PURGE!!!

Whether it's excess fat or excess STUFF we've accumulated over the year...I start to feel claustrophobic...that there is way too much.

In January, I always vow to become a "minimalist" for the coming year.

This really only lasts an average or 6.5 days but it usually motivates me enough to get rid of a carload full of stuff.

So last night at 5 pm I began to tackle my bedroom/office/scraproom.

I don't have a dedicated scraproom so I scrap in my bedroom and master bath...which has sever marble counters which are great for stamping.

I'm super fortunate that my dear sweet hubby doesn't freak out at all the STUFF that scrapbookers NEED to own!

I'm not showing the rest of the room because all my stuff is PILED high that I removed from these two areas! LOL!

So it's back to work for me.

It feels so good to be out from under at least some of the clutter!

A Wii little injury...

We are a gaming family.

I think we've owned every Nintendo gaming system ever made...including the portable ones.

If there were a game show question where you had to name 100 Nintendo games in 30 seconds...our family could do it.

I was actually excited to get the Wii because of the way you use the controllers...swinging them like you would a tennis racquet for the tennis game, or using them as if they were a bowling ball for bowling.

The day I got the Wii, Jennifer Harrison sent me this link: "Wii have a problem."

I laughed when I saw it...told the boys about it and we all were making fun of these people and how silly they were.

So what do I do...I whack my hand on the door of the entertainment center while playing tennis. What a dork!

Everyone thought this was hilarious...I have to admit, I was even laughing. So dumb. It swelled up and turned black and blue.

So all you Wii owners out there...take care to move the hard objects out of the space you're playing in, oh...and don't forget to wear your saftely goggles and helmet! :)
