We've been in our house a little over a year and have been slowly plugging away repainting and remodeling.
Spencer has been bugging me to get to his bedroom, which, by the way, is one of the nicest rooms in the whole house. But it had boring beige walls, a bright lime green bathroom and very mismatched furniture.
A few weeks ago I ordered new furniture for the family room since our old furniture didn't fit in this room. So Spencer is inheriting the old sofa and part of one of our entertainment centers.
He chose great colors for his walls. a charcoal grey and a lighter grey called city-scape.
He still needs to do some touch-ups on one of the walls but here is how it looks now. We're moving the sofa up to his room next week and going to buy him a rug and hang some more artwork, signs and pictures.
I also want to make him so kind of cool headboard, I just haven't decided what kind yet. And we need to repaint the lime bathroom - maybe next month.
Spencer and Jack won their 1st match and made some fantastic plays. I was more proud that they were great sports. They would clap whenever the other team made a good shot - or say "great shot." And at the end of the match, they sincerely shook the other players hands and told them they played a great match.
Their second match did not go as well. They were paired up against the #1 team in the state who were both seniors. In the third game Spencer ran full speed into the fence trying to retrieve a ball off an overhead slam. He hit the pole so hard it knocked him down and he didn't get up for quite awhile. He had roadrash all over and limped back onto the court. They ended up losing but the really sad part was that the other team made some really unkind remarks when they went up to shake hands after the match.
It's sad that it ended that way.
It was a beautiful day though and fun to be out watching the boys play.
