Yay! It's here!
Creating Keepsakes Creative Spaces Vol. 2 which has a four page spread of my studio. I just received my copy last night and it's FAB-U-LOUS! Not only does it have my space, but it has Megan Hoeppner's wonderful vintage-inspired sewing space and Layle Koncars gorgeous studio too. It also shows the 7Gypsies office (when it was in SLC) and it's so cool!
Here is a peek at all the designers whose studios are featured:
I'm really diggin' Amy Yingling's clean & modern space. Her studio is featured on the cover:
Here are a few closeup shots of my space that don't appear in the book:
These are two vintage travel Corona typewriters. The black one I picked up for only $40. What a steal! The camera was a serviceman's Kodak camera from WW2 that I got at a Paris fleamarket about 9 years ago.
I got this french school globe at a Paris flea too and the red poker chips which are in Francs.
More Paris flea finds - the cameras and the opera glasses and the books.
I love to display my wood stamps. I have a 14 shelves from IKEA that run along the walls of my studio. On the top 8 shelves I display about half of my wooden stamp collection. I tend to use them more if I can see them out - plus they are so very pretty.
Besides cameras & typewriters, I love collecting vintage metal cars. This old ambulance was a "squeal with delight" find at a local antiques store here in Salt Lake City. The art canvas in the background is a Paula Cheney original.
One of my favorite art projects is this little wire madam that I made in one of Sally Jean Alexander's classes at Art & Soul.
That's all the sneak peeks I can give. You'll have to buy the magazine if you want to see more. Check out Megan Hoeppner's blog for more peeks at the book and ideas for storage.
